2024 Player Evaluations

Saturday, March 30th at Blinzler Softball Complex

Player evaluations are required for ALL Farm Club, Minor League, Little League and Senior League Players.

This is not a try-out; it is a chance for the coaches to evaluate players in order to build balanced teams. This will be our only evaluation day, so if your player cannot be there, he/she will be put into the random drawing portion of the draft.

We still have spots open for you to help with check-in, run pitching machines, hit ground balls, or shag throws! Email [email protected] to help.

Evaluation Schedule

All evaluations will take place at the Blinzler Softball Complex Please be prompt for your scheduled report time so we can move through the evaluation process smoothly!  Please show up 30 minutes to allow enough time to warm up.

Farm Club (League Age 7-8) -Blinzler Softball Park, Farm Club Field

•  Evaluation Starts - 9:30-11:00

Minors (League Age 9-10) -Blinzler Softball Park, Minor League Field

• Evaluation Starts - 11:00-12:30

Majors (League Age 11-12) -Blinzler Softball Park, Little League Field

• Evaluation Starts - 1- 2:30

Senior(League Age 13-16) -Blinzler Softball Park, Senior League Field

• Evaluation Starts 2:30-330

What to Bring

Parents

• If your child is new to the league, please bring a copy of your player's birth certificate.
• A completed medical release form, unless you uploaded it during registration. We cannot allow your player to participate in the evaluation without a completed medical release form.
• A completed School Enrollment Verification Form signed by an administrator or three proofs of residency as outlined on our Eligibility page here.

Players

Players need to come in baseball attire or other athletic wear and bring a glove, batting helmet, and bat. Boys are encouraged to wear an athletic cup. We will have additional gloves, helmets, and bats on hand if your child does not have this equipment.

What to Expect

Check-In: All players must stop by the Check-In at the concession stand to turn in any paperwork and to get their player evaluation number sticker. This sticker will be placed on the player's back and must remain visible during the evaluation to sign in on the sign in sheet.

Evaluation Circuit: Each player will be given specific instructions at the field. In summary, each player will begin with a batting evaluation. They will receive pitches from the pitching machines and will be allowed to take 5 swings. On the 5th swing, they will run from home plate to 1B. At 1B, they will take off their batting helmet and get their fielding glove and will proceed to the SS position to receive 3 ground balls and throw them to a fielder at 1B. They will then move into LF and receive 3 fly balls which they will throw to a fielder at 2B. If anyone would like to be evaluated as a pitcher, they will be given the opportunity to pitch 5 pitches.  Each evaluation only takes a few minutes, and the player is free to leave once they complete this circuit.
